Burke and the Bulldogs Taking Steps in Right Direction

With one goal in mind junior pitcher, Brandon Burke has his eyes set on capturing back-to-back WAC Championships in 2007. Last year, he helped the Bulldogs achieve their first outright WAC Championship since 1995 with an 8-5 record and a 3.88 ERA. Burke's accomplishments speak for himself as he has appeared in 44 total games and compiled a 10-8 record with six saves while also adding 88 strikeouts.
The San Diego, Calif. native has proven to be a great asset to the ball club and will provide what it takes to take the Bulldogs back to the WAC Championship.
You can catch Burke and the Bulldogs tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. when they take on No. 16 San Diego at Beiden Field. Burke (1-2, 3.86) is listed as the probable starter.

What do you look forward to this season?
"Winning back-to-back WAC Championships."
Why did you choose to attend Fresno State?
"The facilities, potential of the program and a chance to contribute to the program right away."
At what age did you start playing baseball? Why did you want to play baseball?
"I started playing at age eight. My brothers pushed me to play the sport."
What hobbies particular interest you?
"Surfing has always been a passion of mine. When I get a chance to hit some waves I'll take advantage of the opportunity."
What kind of an attitude is necessary to play baseball compared to other sports such as basketball, golf, football ...etc?
"First you need to have confidence in yourself in order to succeed and I have always firmly believed in playing with passion."
What is something surprising most people don't know about you?
"I play guitar and used to play in a couple of high school bands."
What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
"I don't really have an embarrassing sports moment but I would rather be pitching than hitting at the plate."
Who do you admire the most? Why?
I admire my parents for giving me inspiration and helping me continue the journey of my dream. I also admire my parents for their work ethics and they have supported me my whole life."
What's your favorite movie?
"Boondock Saints"
What do you want to do after you graduate?
"Play major league baseball or be a firefighter. I like the thrill of being on the mound or the idea of saving lives when fighting fires."
What has been the highlight of your sports career?
"Achieving tow wins in the WAC tournament and two saves in the regionals."
What kind of music do you like?
"Punk and Regueton"
What is the best part of being a college athlete?
"You get to meet people who have the same interests as you."
What is your dream job?
"WWF Wrestler"
