FRESNO. Calif. - Despite winning seven dual matches and having two riders earn MVP distinction, the Fresno State Equestrian team dropped its match to Kansas State 11-7 in Manhattan, Kans.
The two-day meet, held at the Fox Creek Stables, included both English and Western events.
During Sunday's English event, senior Morgan McDonald was selected the MVP in Equitation over Fences and Kirsten Sohns was selected MVP in Equitation on the Flat. Sohns won MVP honors at Oklahoma State on Friday and has won that honor four times this season.
"We had some very good rides, but Kansas State would counter," said head coach Becky Malmo. "We tied some matches with some good rides. It was great to see Morgan and Kirsten continue to ride so well."
The Bulldogs now prepare for the Varsity Equestrian National Championships April 18-20 in Waco, Texas.
