The Fresno State women's golf team (322-319-318 - 959) moved up a spot to finish in sixth place out of 15-teams at the Anteater Invitational in Irvine, Calif. The host team UC Irvine (909) won the tournament with a strong 30-stroke lead ahead of San Jose State (939).
Mississippi (948) took third place and Nevada (953) placed fourth. UC Davis closed out the top five with a three round score of 954.
Laura Luethke (75-77-79 - 231) finished in the top ten with a seventh place finish to lead the Bulldogs. Jennifer Shipley (80-81-77 - 238) capped the `Dogs best round of the day with a 77 to tie for 15th place. Pia Escandon (85-80-82 - 247) tied for 36th followed by Tiffany Veerkamp (84-81-85 - 250) who tied for 55th place. Brittany Cooley (83-89-80 - 252) tied for 60th place.
Individually UCI junior Selanee Henderson (69-72-75 - 216) won the title by eight strokes followed by Mississppi's Dori Carter (224).
