Athletics Department Adds New Additions to Staff

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State Director of Athletics Thomas Boeh announced the hiring of Associate Director of Athletics for Business Operations Martina Buckley, along with Director of Events Nate Wills and athletic trainers Elise Kramer and Sarah Tackett.
Boeh also announced the promotion of interim head athletic trainer Kelli Eberlein to head athletic trainer. Eberlein will oversee the full-time training staff of five employees and six graduate assistant interns and becomes one of 27 head women athletic trainers at the Division I-A level.
Buckley joins Fresno State after serving as the Director of Business Operations at the University of Kentucky. Buckley oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Kentucky Athletics Association Business Office, which consisted of nine employees.
Buckley joins the Fresno State administration staff and will report directly to Boeh and the University Controller. Her duties include administrative responsibility for the financial and budgetary operations of the Athletics Corporation. She will prepare the annual budget for the Athletics Corporation and will prepare the annual Equity In Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report, among other duties.
Prior to her time at Kentucky, Buckley was the Director of Business Operations at Ohio University. Buckley has additional athletic experience working with the Nashville Predators of the NHL.
Buckley received her master's degree from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. and earned her bachelor's degree from Murray State University in Murray, Ky.
Wills began his tenure at Fresno State on June 1, after serving as the Director of Facilities and Operations at Ohio University for the past two years. Wills received his master's degree from Ohio University and was on the operations staff for the past four years.
Wills duties include overseeing all event related matters. He will oversee the scheduling of all facilities, along with personnel and operations of game day staff. Prior to attending Ohio University, Wills received is bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pa.
Eberlein is entering her fifth year at Fresno State. Last season Eberlein oversaw women's basketball and is a graduate of Fresno State. Eberlein came to Fresno State five years ago from Oregon State, where she spent five years.
With the promotion of Eberlein, Leila Almahdy was named head football athletic trainer and Ed Ferreira was named Student Athlete Assistant Program manager to go along with his sport responsibility duties. Almahdy is just one of seven head women football athletic trainers at the Division I-A level.
Two new additions to the athletic training staff are Kramer and Tackett. Kramer joins the staff after spending three years at Bucknell University. Tackett moves into a full-time roll after serving as a graduate assistant at Fresno State.
