"I think when you look at the Division I Collegiate Athletic experience, the opportunity to play regularly on television is a part of that," said head coach Ruben Nieves. "I think that top high school athletes when they make their college choice are looking for an opportunity like this. Here at Fresno State that is an important part of our volleyball program."
"The Comcast matches are a chance for us to gain new fans and get exposure to folks who aren't coming out to the Save Mart Center yet," Nieves added. "We are hoping that we put on a good show and those folks want to continue to watch the matches on Comcast and eventually get out to the arena."
"The Bulldogs are a huge part of our community and we're proud of our long-lasting support of Fresno State Athletics," says Stewart Butler, Comcast's Director of Sales & Marketing. "We've been showcasing Fresno State's women athletes for a decade on Comcast Channel 14 and now the games are offered on Local Video On Demand! So - if fans can't get to the game they can still watch it live on Comcast Channel 14 and they can go to the game and relive the excitement on Comcast On Demand - Bulldog Athletes and Bulldogs Fans are all showcased on Comcast!"
The six women's basketball and six softball games that will be aired are yet to be determined, but will be posted on www.gobulldogs.com when the information is available.
