Petukhova Named WAC Player of the Month

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresh off a fall season that saw two Bulldogs win a regional championship and a national championship, junior Anastasia Petukhova has been named WAC women's tennis Player of the Month for the month of October.
Petukhova and doubles teammate Renata Kucerkova finished the fall season with a record of 12-1, going 8-1 in October. The Bulldog duo's only loss came in the finals of the ITA All-American doubles tournament. Petukhova and Kucerkova bounced back to win the ITA Northwest Regional doubles championship and the ITA National Indoor title.
The Bulldog junior was also strong in singles as she picked up a big victory against No. 15 Megan Falcon of LSU in the first round of the ITA National Indoors.
The women's tennis team will be back on the court at the Freeman Memorial Invitational, Jan. 16 in Las Vegas, Nev.
