Siebert Moves Up at UNLV Invite

The Fresno State women's golf team is tied for 11th place at the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational. The Bulldogs are tied with Indiana at 18-over par with 594. The Bulldogs improved by 8-shots from their opening round of 301 on Monday. Washington State remains in first as the Cougars recorded a 289 to remain three shots ahead of second place BYU. Texas Tech is in third with 578 and San Francisco (581) took fourth.
"The team did a good job today," said head coach Angie Cates. "We finished strong and put up our best team score so far this year. I'm very happy for them."
Taylor Siebert is charging to the top after two rounds of 71 to stand tied for sixth place. Siebert is four strokes out of the lead which is held by Idaho's Kelly Nakashima and Cathryn Bristow of Oregon with 138.
"Taylor is having another good tournament," Cates said. "She has done a fantastic job at staying in the moment and being committed to each shot."
Hali Coppin tied for 40th place after shooting 73-77 - 150 with 6-over par. Laura Luethke tied for is tied for 57th place going into the third round. Luethke has posted 74-79 - 153. Pia Escandon tied for 64th place after improving her second round by 10-strokes to shoot an even 72 on Tuesday. Chelsea Czinski is tied for 73rd place with 12-over 156.
"Pia had a great comeback today," Cates said. "Hali has been putting up good numbers for us. It was a great team effort today."
