ESPN Radio to Broadcast Five Volleyball Matches

FRESNO, Calif. - ESPN Radio continues his partnership with Fresno State Athletics as they released the five volleyball matches to be aired live on 790 ESPN Radio the Deuce for the 2009 season.
"All of us at the Valley's ESPN Radio are proud to be associated with Fresno State athletics, as we have been for this decade," Said Paul Swearengin, station programming director for ESPN Radio. "We feel it's a natural fit to partner with Fresno State and we are excited to kick off this new era with Coach Netherby-Sewell."
The first game aired will be the Bulldogs second match of the season in the Fresno State Invitational on Aug. 30 vs. UC Davis at 12 p.m. Fresno State defeated UC Davis for its first win of the 2007 season on Aug. 30, as the Bulldogs swept the Aggies 3-0.
The annual exhibition match between the Bulldogs and cross-town NAIA powerhouse Fresno Pacific will be aired at 7 p.m. on Sept. 3. The Sunbirds won the 2007 NAIA national title.
Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. fans can listen to the Bulldogs first Western Athletic Conference (WAC) match vs. Boise State. The Bulldogs and Broncos split the season series last year, both winning on the road.
Utah State visits Fresno on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. The Aggies finished third in the WAC last year and handed Hawai'i its' first-ever conference loss at home.
The final home match on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. will be against WAC defending champion Hawai'i. The Rainbow Wahine have won the past 12 WAC titles.
