Homecoming Week Festivities Announced

FRESNO, Calif. - A website has been launched for festivities taking place during Fresno State's 2008 Homecoming Week, October 6-12.
The highlights of a busy week of activities are the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala on October 10 in the Save Mart Center and the October 11 Fresno State vs. Idaho football game. Also on October 10, the community is invited to a free pep rally in Bulldog Boulevard, just outside Bulldog Stadium, to set the mood for the following evening's Western Athletic Conference game between the Bulldogs and Vandals. The pep rally will feature several Fresno State athletic teams, music, inflatable games and prizes. The time for the one hour pep rally is still to be determined but will take place in the evening.
The Fresno State Alumni Association, Fresno State Athletics, USU Productions and Associated Students Inc. are organizing a week of on-campus activities around the theme, "Road Trip to Victory." The idea is to encourage students, staff, faculty and administrators of today and the past to join in Homecoming events, meet old Fresno State friends and support the Bulldog teams in action.
This year's Homecoming celebration will have a community-service component as Fresno State athletics will host the second annual food drive benefiting the Community Food Bank in Fresno. Everyone is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the volleyball and football games on October 11, as well as any Homecoming festivities taking place on campus. A list of items that are needed is available on the official Homecoming website.
The Fresno State volleyball team will be in action against Nevada at 2 p.m. on October 11 in the Save Mart Center. Admission is free for those who show a ticket to the October 11 football game.
Then at 2pm on October 12, fans can use their October 11 football ticket stub to get in free to the Fresno State soccer game against WAC rival Hawaii in Bulldog Stadium.

"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The first Big Ten team will travel to the Valley on September 13th as the No. 25 `Dogs take on Wisconsin in the home opener at 7:30 pm.
