FRESNO, Calif. - Lauren Berger had great blocking success as a freshman last year and has carried over her success into her sophomore season heading into the third week of play in 2008. Berger (Medford, Ore.) is third on the team with nine total blocks and has 29 kills.
Fresno State and www.gobulldogs.com sat down with Berger to ask her a few questions about the team and her spare time as the Bulldogs head to Cal State Bakersfield for a weekend tournament beginning Friday (Sept. 12).
What is your favorite moment from the season so far: Beating Cal State Bakersfield in five in the opening match.
What are you most looking forward to this season: Getting better, growing as a team and having fun.
What trip are you most looking forward to this year: The WAC tournament in Hawai'i.
What opposing player are you most looking forward to getting a chance to block this season: Jamie Houston from Hawai'i.
What is your favorite quote from Coach Netherby-Sewell: "Forget about the path behind you, focus on the road ahead of you."
What is your pre-match ritual: Listening to music.
What nicknamed has the team given you: Boogie and Bergs.
What is something people don't know about you: I like to wakeboard.

"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The Fresno State volleyball team heads to the Cal State Bakersfield tournament September 12-13. The Bulldogs will battle Cal State Bakersfield on Friday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, September 13 the `Dogs face Arizona at 12:00 p.m. and Chicago State at 4:30 p.m. The next home match is Saturday, September 27 against San Jose State in the WAC home opener.
