Five Dogs Earn Wins Against Texas A&M

FRESNO, Calif. -
The Fresno State equestrian team took on one of the premier programs in Texas in a dual match Friday and despite some strong rides, Texas A&M defeated the Bulldogs 15-5.
The Bulldogs earned two of their wins in Equitation over Fences as senior captain Katie Nenneker and Jennifer Jory each earned wins. Jory improved to 3-0 on the season with her victory over A&M rider Erin Ivey with a score of 70.
Lisa Wells had the highest score for Fresno State with an 80, but was edged by meet MVP Brooke Coleman (83). Cambria Kissell also performed well with a score of 79, but lost to Lindsay Smith.
Caitlin Marshall scored Fresno State's only win in Equitation of the Flat with a score of 65 to defeat Christina Heine by 13 points.
The Bulldog western team scored two wins, one each in Horsemanship and Reining. Adriane Smith had the best ride of the Dogs in Horsemanship with a 72.5, earning a 1 point win over Amanda Cushman. Asheline Beeson scored a 72 but lost by one-half a point to Sibyl Parsons. Elizabeth Thomasian scored a 2-point win over Genna Fishgold (69.5-67.5) in Reining. Shellie Dalluge rode well with a score of 69.5 but lost by one point to Tara Christiansen.
The Dogs begin the Baylor Willis Invitational on Friday night, taking on TCU. The Dogs will battle Baylor and New Mexico State in tournament matches Saturday in Waco, Texas.
