FRESNO, Calif. - Senior Taylor Siebert (70, 71, 76-217) shot a total of one-over par today to tie for 16th place at the Heather Farr Memorial Invitational in Broomfield, Colo.
Fresno State finished tied for ninth place out of 20-teams at 23-over with rounds of 291-303-293 -887 at the Vista and Sunshine courses at the Omni, a par-72 setup checking in at 6,211 yards.
Notre Dame clinched the team title shooting a total of 858. Texas Tech (863) fell five strokes behind in second, followed by the host team, Colorado (867), in third. Colorado State (870) took fourth and CSU-Long Beach (873) rounded out the top-five.
Kay Hoey (207/-9) of CSU-Long Beach was the individual leader finishing three strokes ahead of Colorado's Emily Childs (210/-6) and UC-Davis' Alice Kim (210/-6), who both tied for second place.
Hali Coppin (224/+8) and Lindi Covarrubias (224/+8) improved their standings today. Coppin shot an even third round and Covarrubias shot a third round of one-under par, they finished tied for 36th place. Chelsea Czinski shot two solid rounds of 72 to finish tied for 47th place. Pia Escandon (232/+16) tied for 69th place.
"Lindi really had a solid performance today," coach Cates-Moore said. "I was really pleased to see her end the tournament on a good note."
"Hali also did well. She had been battling injuries all this week and I was proud that she was strong enough to play as well as she did.
The Dogs travel to Hawaii for the Kent Youel Tournament on Oct. 28-29.
"We have a few things that we need to work on in the meantime but we will be ready to do well by the time we head out," Cates-Moore said.
