FRESNO, Calif. - Sophomore Kelli Parker, a right side hitter from Lemoore, Calif., is in her first year with the Bulldog volleyball team and before the `Dogs hit the road to Logan, Utah for a 6 p.m. match against the Aggies on Thursday, Parker sat down with www.gobulldogs.com to discuss her first season at Fresno State.
Parker was instrumental for the `Dogs last weekend in the wins over Utah State and Idaho as she had career-high's in nearly every offensive category.
Gobulldogs.com: When and why did you start playing volleyball?
Kelli Parker: Fourth grade because it was fun.
GB: What other sports did you play growing up?
KP: Basketball, soccer, track, diving and softball.
GB: What do you still hope to accomplish as a student-athlete?
KP: To make the All-WAC and All-American teams.
GB: If you had to live on a desert island for a year and could only take three items with you, what would you take?
KP: Cell phone, IPod and a year's supply of cup of noodles.
GB: What is your match day routine?
KP: Eat, sleep, listen to music, visualize, get pumped and win!
GB: What are your expectations for your team this season?
KP: To win the WAC! Anything is possible!
GB: What is your favorite television show?
KP: South Park and House.
GB: Who is your favorite professional athlete?
KP: Lebron James.
GB: If Hollywood were to make a movie about your life, which actress would play your role?
KP: Sanaa Lathan from Love and Basketball.
GB: If you were to win a million dollars what would be your first purchase?
KP: A house in Los Angeles.
GB: Describe the perfect meal?
KP: Steak with sautéed mushrooms, baked potatoes, steamed veggies and a Dr. Pepper.
