Petukhova Going to National Indoors

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State senior Anastasia Petukhova received a wild card selection from the ITA selection committee to compete in the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Nov. 5-8 in New Haven, Conn.
This will be the second year Petukhova played in the Indoor Championships. In 2008, she advanced to the Round of 16 by knocking off then-No. 15 Megan Falcon of LSU, 6-4, 6-1.
Petukhova is coming off a Round of 16 performance at the ITA Northwest Regional and earlier this month she won the consolation bracket of the ITA All-American main draw, where she defeated four ranked players.
The Indoor Championships are a tradition bracket with one flight of 32 players. Competition begins on Nov. 5 at 6 a.m. PT and concludes on Sunday. The Indoor Championships are hosted by Yale.
The Bulldogs will next be in action as a team at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic on Jan. 15 in Palm Springs, Calif.
