Bulldogs in Third After Second Round

Complete Results Thru Two Rounds
FRESNO, Calif. - In the first tournament of the season, Bhavik Patel shot a 6-under par 138 to put Fresno State in third out of out of 13 teams at the Nevada Wolfpack Classic in Reno, Nev. on Monday. Patel carded a 71 and 67, an eagle and 10birdies to aid the `Dogs in their finish.
"Bhavik is continuing to play well and this is a plus for the team," said head coach Mike Watney.
Fresno State is one stroke behind the current leaders, Wichita State and Nevada who both shot a 567 total.
Grant Doverspike (72-70) saved 26 pars on the day to finish 2-under par 142 and tied for 8th. Newcomer Adam Barkow, put together a strong 36-hole total at 1-under par 143 in his first tournament. Barkow finished the day in 10th. Senior Bryan Hogan finished in 20th with scores of 73 and 72 (145). Michael Gideon fired an eagle and tied and shot a total of 152 to round out the Bulldog lineup.
"For a first tournament on the Division-I level Adam played solid, refelected coach Watney.
"The team's expectations are high this year. They feel like at the top is where they belong. It was a great overall performance and I'm extremely happy with where we stand."
The third round will begin at 8:30 am on Tuesday. Results for round three will be posted on www.gobulldogs.com Tuesday.
