`Dogs Host Louisiana Tech

FRESNO, Calif. - With two weeks' left in the regular season, The Western Athletic Conference race to get into the six-team tournament for five teams is wide open. The `Dogs currently sit in sixth place with a 5-8 conference record and a 12-13 overall record.
Fresno State hosts Louisiana Tech on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Save Mart Center in a big match for both teams.
Louisiana Tech is 15-16 on the year and 4-10 in the WAC Standings. They are 1-0 against the Bulldogs this year, sweeping Fresno State on Oct. 24 in Ruston, La.
Taking a look at the WAC standings, Hawai'i (13-0), New Mexico State (11-3) and Idaho (9-4) are all locks for the tournament at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 23-25.
Nevada and Boise State are tied at 6-7 for fourth place, followed by Fresno State at 5-8, Utah State at 5-9, Louisiana Tech at 4-10 and San Jose State at 1-12. All of these teams, minus San Jose State are still eligible for the WAC Tournament.
If the `Dogs were to make the WAC Tournament and finish in at least sixth, it would be the best regular season finish in the WAC for Fresno State since 2004.
"We Are Your Team" - Don't miss your Bulldogs when they take on the Lady Techsters at the Save Mart Center on Thursday, November 12, at 7 p.m. It's "Take a Kid to the Game" Night and all kids in the 8th grade or below will receive free admission when accompanying a paid adult. Then, on Saturday, November 14, the `Dogs will be hosting their last home match of the 2009 season when the New Mexico State Aggies come to town.
