FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's golf coach Angie Cates-Moore announced the signing of two golfers to the 2010-11 team. Joining the Bulldogs next season are Alison Timlin and Taylor Wilkinson.
Timlin hails from Ottawa, Canada and is a four-time city champion golfer. She was named Golf MVP at St. Joseph's Catholic High School. In 2009, Timlin competed in the Champion of Nike Golf Junior Invitational and the Callaway Junior World's Championship at Torrey Pines, where she shot a final round of 76.
"Alison (Timlin) has a great mind and demeanor for this game," said Cates-Moore. "She's all business on the golf course and knows what it takes to be a winner. Alison is a wonderful, responsible young woman and has every intention of coming to Fresno State and being the best student-athlete she can be. Her goals and determination will have a great impact on our young team next year."
Wilkinson is another outstanding Valley product to sign to play for the Bulldogs. A native of Reedley, Calif., she is a four-time team MVP and was named all-league four times. Wilkinson won the Yuba-Sutter Big I State Qualifier, where she got her first hole-in-one. She is a two-time southern state qualifier.
"Taylor (Wilkinson) is an incredible person who knows that the only way to success is through hard work," said Cates-Moore. "She knows what she wants and she's willing to put in the time and effort to accomplish her goals. She will be a great addition to our team and her work ethic will speak volumes. She is also a great student and will be very dedicated to her chosen major."
Cates-Moore expected to announce a couple more additions to the golf team in the next few days.
"We Are Your Team"-- The Bulldog women's golf team will resume its schedule at the Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford University Feb. 14-14, 2010.
