Bulldogs Battle Idaho Tough

Moscow, Idaho - The Fresno State women's basketball team rallied to get within five points in the second half but it wasn't enough as Idaho defeated the Bulldogs, 59-47, on Friday night at the Cowan Spectrum. The Bulldogs dropped to 17-7 and 8-3 in WAC while Idaho improved to 10-11 and 7-3 in conference.
"We tried to get back in the game," Fresno State coach Adrian Wiggins said. "We have had better days and we'll get better. "
Marnique Arnold had 12 points and seven rebounds while Hayley Munro had 10 points and eight rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 30 percent from the field while Idaho shot 44 percent.
The Bulldogs out rebounded Idaho 40-36.
Fresno State never led in the game and trailed by as many as 17 points at 36-19 at halftime. The `Dogs opened the second half scoring the first 10 points to come within seven at 36-29 with 14:42 to play in the game. Arnold and Munro each scored four points in the run while Jaleesa Ross added a bucket.
Fresno State later got within five at 42-37 with 10:15 to play after a basket by Arnold. That would be the closest the Bulldogs would come as they were held scoreless for the next seven minutes and fell behind 52-41 with 2:35 to play.
