Another Dog Fight

The Fresno State women's tennis team is starting to show a tendency for the dramatics. For the second time in the ITA Team Indoor Championships, the winner of the Bulldogs' match was decided in the final pairing in a 4-3 loss to Florida on Sunday in Madison, Wisc.
"It was a good learning week, we faced some top level competition," Fresno State head coach Simon Thibodeau said.
Renata Kucerkova remains hot in the tournament for the Bulldogs. The junior from the Czech Republic recorded her third-straight victory. Along with partner Anastasia Petukhova, they defeated Florida's Anastasia Revzina and Jessica Alexander 8-6 to give them a 3-0 doubles record in the tournament.
For the third time in the Indoor Championships, Fresno State won the doubles point. In addition to Petukhova and Kucerkova, the senior duo of Tinesta Rowe and Melanie Gloria picked up a dramatic 9-8(3) victory for the Bulldogs over Marritt Boonstra and Joanna Mather.
The Bulldogs will next be in action against Saint Mary's on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
