FRESNO, Calif.-The Fresno State women's golf team is in a tie for 12th place following two rounds of play at the 11th-annual Mountain View Collegiate, which is being played at Mountain View Golf Course.
The Bulldogs have a team score of 606 (303-303, +30) heading into tomorrow's final round. Senior Taylor Siebert is the lone `Dog currently sitting in the top 20, with two solid rounds of play.
"Taylor put together two great rounds," Bulldogs head coach Angie Cates-Moore said. "Her ball striking ability has been really good."
Siebert is sitting at two-over 146 with a quartet of players after she carded two rounds of 73 on the par-72, 6,263-yard course. Siebert is six strokes off the pace of the leaders, a trio of players who are four-under heading into the final round. Sophomore Chelsea Czinski heads into the final 18 holes tied for 29th after she shot rounds of three-over 75 and three-over 74, totaling a two-round score of five-over 149.
Fresno State junior Hali Coppin is currently sitting tied for 48th with a two-round total of 153 (+9) following rounds of 76 and 77 on Saturday. Junior Lindi Covarrubias (79-79--158, +14) is tied for 79th and junior Pia Escandon (80-80--160, +16) is in 84th to round out the Bulldog five.
San Jose State leads the tournament carding totals 284 and 287 (571, -5) after two rounds of play. San Jose State' s Erica Mosten and Christina Corpus leads their team and the tournament along with Louisville's Cindy LaCrosse posting 4-under 140, 54-hole totals.
Sunday's final round gets underway with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun shot for the 19-team field, and the Bulldogs will be looking to climb up the leaderboard.
