BOISE, Idaho - The spring season for the Fresno State volleyball team official concluded as the `Dogs faced stiff competition at the Loyola Marymount Tournament hosted by USC at the Galen Center on Saturday.
Fresno State started the day taking on USC on their home court. USC took both games, 25-14 and 25-11.
Next up for the `Dogs was Cal State Fullerton. The `Dogs dropped the first game 25-14 and fought back to win game two 25-19.
"This tournament was exactly what it was intended to be," said assistant coach Alanna Jackson. "It was by far the toughest of our four spring contests."
The tournament hosts LMU then edged the `Dogs 25-22 and 25-19 before Fresno State took out UNLV in two-straight sets, 25-23 and 25-19.
"I thought it was a good tournament for us," said freshman Baylee Platt. "We got to play teams who were very good and play at high levels. It was cool to go in with nothing to lose and to show them how hard we have been training. Some of the games didn't go in our favor but I thought everyone did a good job adapting, playing their positions well, communicating and applying what we do in practice to the matches."
Earlier in the spring the `Dogs hosted a tournament in the North Gym as well as traveled to tournaments at Cal State Northridge and on the beach in Long Beach.
