FRESNO, Calif. - On Thursday, July 9, 2009, Fresno State Athletics unveiled its new look to www.gobulldogs.com to give Bulldogs fans a new, exciting and easy way to find all of the information on their favorite Bulldog teams.
The website was designed to be fan-friendly and easy to navigate, but some things have moved on the website and others have been added.
Gobulldogs.com wants to make the transition easy so has listed a few things below to help fans find what they are looking for and to answer some questions about some of the new features that are now on the front page.
"Today's consumer expects new and fresh content and a delivery system that meets their needs," said Paul Ladwig, the Associate Athletic Director for Broadcasting and External Relations. "We have created that system with our partners at CBS College Sports and with a new clean look, enhanced navigation the return of online auctions and a superior Bulldog All Access TV, this new site will take care of the requirements of our viewers."
Fans can now see six rotating stories at the top of the website, unlike the four in the past. Having six stories allows fans to see more diverse stories for a longer period of time on the front page.
Also along with the stories at the top, fans can click on the `headlines' to read the stories or on `calendar' to get a schedule of events and all gametracker links.
With Fresno State's transition into online media guides for the 2009-10 season, each media guide is and will be posted on each sport specific page and all media guides can be found under the multimedia drop down on the media guide page.
The new video box on the front page allows fans to select which video they want to watch without taking them off of the main page. Fans can select out of multiple previously run videos to watch.
In the center on the top of the front page above the new ticket icon are four new icons to www.gobulldogs.com. The first icon on the far left is blogs. Fans can click on this link and it will take you directly to the Fresno State blog page where fans can read any blog on their favorite Fresno State team.
The second icon from the left is Twitter. When fans click on this link it directly takes you to the Fresno State Athletics home page on Twitter.com. It is here where fans can sign up for free and receive up-to-the-minute news online or on their cell phones about Fresno State Athletics.
The third icon takes fans directly to the Fresno State Athletic homepage on Facebook.com. Fans can also sign up for Facebook for free and add Fresno State as a friend to follow all of the news in the athletic department. On Facebook, fans can also view videos, photo galleries and be notified of upcoming events in every sport.
The fourth icon links fans to the Fresno State RSS page where fans can select how they want to receive news for which specific sports for no charge.
Fans can find all of the information they have on the past on each specific sport page and by using the dropdown menus at the top of the front page.
On the front page, fans can also signup for v-mail alerts, purchase Fresno State photos, buy tickets and buy gear from the Bulldog shop among 100's of other things.
