FRESNO, Calif. - Notre Dame Invitational Up Next
Fresno State's cross country teams will travel to Coach Sean McManus's alma mater this week for the Notre Dame Invitational. The four invitational races of the meet feature 87 teams from across the country. The women's team will run in the "Women's Gold" division, the first race of the day scheduled for 11 a.m. PT. The men will race in the final race of the day, the "Men's Blue" division, slated for 2 p.m. PT.
Scoping Out the Competition
On the women's side, the 23 teams competing in the Gold division include Ball State, Butler, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, and Indiana State, to name a few. The women have not raced any of the teams in the division within recent history. Fresno State is also the only team from the West Coast competing in the division. For the men, Arizona State, Butler, Florida State, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Penn State, Princeton, Providence, Tulsa and Washington, all nationally ranked teams, are among those competing in the 23-team Blue division. The men will also race a WAC opponent for the first time this season as Utah State will be in the division. Arizona, Arizona State, UC Riverside, UCLA, Utah State and Washington are all teams the Bulldogs faced last season at the NCAA Regionals in Stanford, Calif., where the men took 14th among the 25 teams.
