`Dogs Advance in Singles and Doubles

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 2 seeded doubles team, de Villiers and Boutillier, earned a bye in the Round of 64 and teamed up and took on Eastern Washington's Chad Henniger/ Mario Navarro in the Round of 32. The `Dogs defeated the Eagles, 8-1.
Jean-Charles Diame and Siddharth Alapati, seeded No. 9 in doubles, earned a bye in the Round of 64 and were matched up against Stanford's Daniel Ho and Jamin Ball in the Round of 32. The `Dogs dropped the match, 8-5, and move into the consolation bracket.
David Ayoun and Nick Papac competed in doubles for the first time together today and they battled California's Tommi Murphy and Zach Gilbert. The Golden Bears earned the victory, 8-3, and the `Dogs will move into the consolation bracket.
Alapati withdrew from competition due to injury.
In singles, seeded No. 9, de Villiers added another victory to his record after defeating Stanford's Matt Kandath, 6-1, 6-1. The `Dogs will take on California's Chris Konigsfldt, seeded No. 5.
Boutillier was matched against University of San Francisco's Thai Tu, but due to injury Tu withdrew and competes against Stanford's Alex Clayton, seeded No. 2, tomorrow.
Sebastian Hafner continued competing in the Round of 32 against Pacific's Artem Gramma. The `Dogs dropped the matched, 6-2, 7-5, and the Tiger will move to the Round of 16.
Singles main draw and consolation bracket will reconvene tomorrow, as will doubles main draw and consolation bracket.
