David Ayoun Named GoBulldogs.com Athlete of the Week

Junior David Ayoun was named Gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week. He was the champion of the Flight A Singles bracket in the annual Bulldog Classic. He was seeded No. 2 in the bracket and defeated No. 5 seeded teammate Jean-Charles Diame in the finals. After having a bye in the round of 32, Ayoun went on to defeat Kristian Kuharszky, 6-3, 6-2, from Nevada, in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, Ayoun came back in three matches to defeat Drew Jacobs from Cal Poly, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3. Competing against his teammate, Siddarth Alapati, in the semifinal round, Ayoun earned the victory, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3. In the final round, Ayoun battled against fellow teammate, Jean-Charles Diame and clinched the match 6-3, 6-2. Other Nominees: 2010-11 Athletes of the Week:
