'Dogs in Sixth at UOP Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs opened their fifth and final tournament of the fall season tied in sixth place at the 38th annual University of Pacific Invitational. The team shot a 288 during the first round and are currently tied with Santa Clara University. The University of Pacific is sitting in first place with a score of 272. Oregon State's Jonnie Motomochi made a hole in one during the first round on Hole 12 (Par 3, 131 yards) of the Brookside Course.
Junior Bhavik Patel shot three under par and is currently tied in fourth place with a score of 68. This is Patel's tenth round this season of shooting under par and seventh round of scoring in the 60's. The Junior birdied 3 of the last 5 holes and is tied in first place for birdies at the tournament with seven overall.
Freshman Nate Jessup shot his lowest round of the season with a 71 and is currently tied in 19th place.
"Nate played a solid round considering it is only his second tournament of the year," said head coach Mike Watney.
Scores: Bhavik Patel (T4) 68, Nate Jessup (T19) 71, Brian Sunker (T30) 73, Michael Gideon (T48) 76, Bryan Hogan (T56) 77.
The `Dogs will head back to the green to tee off for day two tomorrow morning.
