Yoho Smashes School Record Twice

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Bulldogs finished up their two-day road trip at Washington State scoring 96 points as a team to the 165 scored by the Cougars. The `Dogs won six events, a school record was broken, and multiple swimmers clocked lifetime and season bests.
"I was proud of how we rebounded today," said head coach Jeanne Fleck. "We came in today with the attitude of getting it done event by event. We obviously want to win but we had some great swims against a PAC-10 school in our third year of the program back."
Sophomore Dani Yoho (Sugar Land, Texas) had two stellar performances for Fresno State. In the 50-yard freestyle race Yoho clocked a time of 23.54, smashing the previous school record she held of 23.64. Then she led off the 200-yard freestyle relay team with a time of 23.49, breaking the school record for the second time of the day with an even better time.
Michelle Dockendorf was among the `Dogs that swam lifetime bests against the Cougars. She swam the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:56.72 and a second place finish. The freshman from Santa Barbara, Calif. also won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:20.29.
Heidi Gjoen (Oslo, Norway) won the 100-yard backstroke for Fresno State in a time of 57.81. Her time qualified as her best in-season time ever. Gjoen also won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.79 scoring important points for her team in both events.
Kat Vietti swam a lifetime best in the 50-yard freestyle race. She replaced her previous record of 24.84 with a new time of 24.59. Fresno State, 1-3, travels to UC Davis Nov. 13 for their second road trip of the 2010-11 season.
