FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State Athletics is teaming up with Toys for Tots and collecting toys for children all over the Valley. Red Wave fans have several opportunities to donate toys at either football, women's basketball or at the Bulldog Shop.
"Fresno State and the Marine Corps are both made up of very diverse people from all walks of life," said Marine Corp Sgt. Chris LeCureux. "Through Toys for Tots it's a chance to bring all those people and our community together. It is a great partnership dating back to last year and other Fresno State organizations previous to that. Partnering up with Fresno State Athletics enables Fresno County to take care of its toddlers during the Holiday season."
The first 2,000 fans to bring a toy to Friday night's football game against Illinois will receive a free t-shirt. The Marine Corps Reserve will have donation bins located at all four main entrances to Bulldog Stadium.
Any fan that brings a toy to the women's basketball game on Saturday, Dec. 4 will get free admission. Another opportunity for fans to donate toys for the Holidays is at the Bulldog Shop. Until Sunday, Dec. 5 bring a toy into the Bulldog Shop and receive 20% off.
The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is directed by the Commander, Marine Forces Reserve, with the assistance of his staff, from the Marine Forces Reserve Headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
"We Are Your Team!" Fresno State concludes the regular season on Friday Dec. 3 at 7:15 p.m. against Big Ten foe Illinois. Tickets for the game can be purchased by clicking the tickets icon at the top of this page.
