'Dogs Back in Town to Host First-Place Aggies

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Bulldogs are back in the San Joaquin Valley after a three-game road trip for their first home games in nearly two weeks.
The `Dogs host the first-place New Mexico State Aggies on Thursday night at 7 p.m. and the Idaho Vandals on Saturday night with tip off slated for 7 p.m. or 30 minutes after the end of the 5 p.m. Fresno State-NMSU women's contest. This starts a stretch where the `Dogs play four of their next five games at home.

Golubovic Earns Back-to-Back Academic All-District VIII Honors
Junior forward Nedeljko Golubovic became a two-time ESPN the Magazine/CoSida Academic All-District winner and earned another exclusive spot on the Academic All-American ballot. Golubovic (of Pjevlja, Serbia) is majoring in Psychology and sports a cumulative 3.86 grade point average, the highest of honorees along the West Coast. Golubovic was again the only University Division student-athlete from a California college. Last year, he became the first student-athlete in program history to earn the academic distinction.
Cleveland Closing in on Colson; One Win Away from 6th All-Time
The hard work of head coach Steve Cleveland, his staff and student-athletes has earn academic accolades, yet the progress on the floor is also reshaping the program. With the Bulldogs' next victory, Cleveland will tie Gary Colson for 6th place on the all-time wins list by Bulldog head men's basketball coaches with 76 career victories at Fresno State.
George on Course for Return, Thursday Return as Starter Expected
After missing the past four and a half games with a right ankle injury, sophomore Paul George is on schedule to return for Thursday night's home game versus New Mexico State. George is the team's leading scorer (17.0 ppg), rebounder (7.3 rpg) and steals producer (2.6 spg). Last fall, George was named the West's Most Entertaining Player by SI.com.
About the New Mexico State Aggies
The New Mexico State Aggies, a member of the Western Athletic Conference, are 15-8 overall on the season (6-5 on the road) and tied for first place with Utah State at 8-2 in league action in the WAC standings. Jahmar Young leads the Aggies with 21 ppg.
Against the New Mexico State Aggies
Fresno State trails the overall series with New Mexico State, 21-11, after dropping a 86-77 road contest earlier this season. The Bulldogs have won three of the past five games against the Aggies in Fresno and own a 2-2 mark against NMSU in the Save Mart Center.
LAST GAME: `Dogs Earn First WAC Road Win, Sweep Warriors
A gutsy Bulldog road effort sealed a 61-51 victory on Saturday night by Fresno State against Hawai'i for a season sweep of the Warriors Sophomore Mike Ladd scored a team-high 18 points to lead four `Dogs in double figures for the tenth time this season. The three others were Greg Smith (16), Sylvester Seay (13) and Steven Shepp (11). The win marked Fresno State's first conference road victory since 2008 when Cleveland guided the `Dogs to a 61-44 win at Louisiana Tech and the Bulldogs' first triumph on the Islands since 2004.
