Petukhova to Face Hein in First Round

FRESNO, Calif. - The NCAA announced the 2010 NCAA Singles Championship pairings on Tuesday and Fresno State's 14th-ranked Anastasia Petukhova will open against No. 50 Micaela Hein of Arizona State on Wednesday at noon in Athens, Ga.
This will be the first meeting between the two.
Petukhova is 13-4 on the season and climbed as high as No. 4 in the ITA Tennis Rankings this year. This will be her third-straight appearance in the NCAA Singles Championship.
Hein is a junior from Mission Viejo, Calif. This is her first appearance in the NCAA Singles Championships, but in 2008-09 she was invited to the NCAA Doubles Championships and earned All-American honors with partner Kelcy McKenna.
The winner of the matchup will move on to face the winner of No. 55 Nina Munch-Soegaard of TCU and No. 40 Bianca Eichkorn of Miami (Fla.). The winner of the second round match will advance to the Round of 16 and earn NCAA All-American honors.
The championship match will be held on May 31.
