FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's Britney Vogel and Dani Yoho both broke individual meet records to help push the Bulldogs to a second-place finish at the 2011 Valley Invitational for its best finish in the three years of the event.
Loyola Marymount captured its second all-time crown in the annual event that also includes San Diego. LMU won with 354 points, followed by Fresno State (268) and San Diego (257).
Vogel set the meet record in the 100 yard breast stroke with a time of 1:05.11, besting San Diego's Melissa Andruzzi time of 1:06.34 in the 2010 Beach Cup.
Yoho added another record to her books as she clipped the meet record for the 100 yard freestyle after earning a time of 51.97. The record was 52.21 set by A. Scott from Loyola Marymount in 2010.
Hannah Prigge recorded her second straight day with a career-best on the diving boards to lead Fresno State's sweep in the 3-meter diving competition.
