FRESNO, Calif. - In a rare local exhibition match-up, Fresno State pounded Fresno City College for a quick 3-0 victory on Thursday night at the Save Mart Center.
Korrin Wild led Fresno State with 10 kills in a quick three-set victory over Fresno City College.
The Bulldogs' efficient showing provided a fine-tuning session of just over an hour before starting the second half of Western Athletic Conference action on Saturday at home versus Nevada, who Fresno State downed 3-2 in a road thriller to open conference play nearly a month ago.
Fresno State, who remained 9-11 for the season due to the exhibition distinction of Thursday's night match with the Rams, sits in fifth place at 3-4 through the first seven WAC matches.
Nevada is 1-6 in league action and just outside the top six in the seven spot - ahead of winless Louisiana Tech and 1.5 matches back of sixth-place San Jose State.
The top six teams advance to the 2011 WAC Tournament in Las Vegas from Nov. 21-23.
