Sunbirds Slip Past 'Dogs in Four

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State volleyball team pushed four-time defending NAIA national champion Fresno Pacific with a spirited exhibition, but the Sunbirds flew to a four-set win on Wednesday night at the FPU Special Events Center.
Bulldog freshman middle blocker Maci Murdock (Turlock, Calif.) played one of her best matches in a young Fresno State career as she tied Korrin Wild for a team-high 17 kills in the 25-22, 19-25, 22-25, 25-27 loss.
Fresno State (13-14, 7-7 Western Athletic Conference) will next compete on Monday in the opening round of the 2011 WAC Tournament. The 'Dogs will face defending champion Utah State at 7:30 p.m. on the floor of the Orleans Arena.
Note: Tonight's exhibition contest between Fresno State and Fresno Pacific does not affect the Bulldogs' overall season record.

WAC To Stream Volleyball Tournament from Las Vegas, Championship Match on ESPNU
The Western Athletic Conference, in conjunction with its Web site partner NeuLion, has announced it will stream the first two days of the 2011 WAC Volleyball Tournament. Viewers can sign up by visiting www.WAC.tv.
The volleyball tournament will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, Nov. 21-23. The top six teams will advance to the tournament with the top two seeds earning a first round bye.
Each day, you can view both matches on WAC.tv for $9.95. Wednesday's championship match is not available on WAC.tv, but can be viewed on ESPNU with Anne Marie Anderson and Kelli Tennant calling the action live from the Orleans Arena.
