FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State divers concluded their competition with the 3-meter dive at the USC Diving Invitational Saturday afternoon in a field of 25 divers.
Stacey Luke, a junior from Kenmore, Wash., snuck into the finals after finishing twelfth in the prelims. She came back fighting in the finals moving all the way up to a sixth place finish in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 239.60.
"We had another good day," head diving coach Taryn Patrick said "Stacey did well enough in prelims to make the finals (12th), then competed a lot better in the finals and ended up sixth!"
Hannah Prigge, a sophomore from Rocklin, Calif., came in real close again missing the finals by only a couple of points. Prigge finished fourteenth in 3-meter with a score of 215.70.
"Hannah had great starts on all her dives, but just needs to be more confident and consistent on her outs and entries," said Patrick.
The divers performed well this weekend and gained good experience competing against some other great divers. Their next competition will be at home in the Fresno State Aquatics Center on Saturday, Nov. 12. The Fresno State swimming and diving team will compete against UC Davis in a dual-meet at noon.
