Modoc Earns Solo Point for Dogs

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 60 Fresno State women's tennis team fell to No. 29 SMU, 6-1 on Sunday at the Turpin Tennis Center on the campus of SMU.
The Dogs mixed things up a bit in doubles today switching partners around. On court one Marianne Jodoin and Bianca Modoc teamed up to take on the Mustangs' Marta Lesniak and Aleksandra Malyarchikova. SMU earned the victory giving the Mustangs an early lead.
Newly paired duo, Laura Pola and Abby Hayley competed on court three against Kris Roberts and Shahzoda Hatamoya. The Dogs earned the victory, 8-4 giving it the only doubles victory for Fresno State.
In singles the Dogs struggled to find their swing, dropping the first five matches.
Earning the only singles victory and the last match to finish for the day, Modoc defeated Roberts on court six. After dropping the first set Modoc rallied back and added a victory to her resume, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6.
Fresno State returns to action Thursday March 3rd when they play BYU. First serve for the match with the Cougars is set for 12:30 p.m.
