FRESNO, Calif. - Two divers represented Fresno State strongly at the NCAA Zone E competition in Minneapolis, Minn. wrapping up the meet today with platform placing 13th and 16th off the highest board.
"We were a little off today," said diving coach Taryn Patrick. "Stacey missed qualifying for finals by .3, but performed some really good dives. Hannah was pretty consistent, she just needs to get more confident and trust her outs on dives."
Stacey Luke returned to NCAA Zone competition for the second consecutive year. She wrapped up her sophomore season with a strong performance off the platform and barely missing the finals by .3 of a point. She scored 196.2 points for a 13th-place finish.
Freshman Hannah Prigge completed her first NCAA Zone competition with a 16th-place finish and scored 187.20 points.
Both divers are proof of the improvement of the Fresno State swimming and diving team. Last season one diver competed and this year two. The Bulldogs continue to work hard on and off the board towards continued improvement.
"We've grown a lot as a team this season," said Patrick. "We have some things we need to work on, but overall the divers improved their technique and learned new dives. We're still a young team, but we've had some good learning experiences this year and that's going to help us continue to be competitive in our conference and zone."
