Dogs Sweep LA Tech 7-0

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 59 Fresno State women's tennis team concluded their journey for the weekend with a victory over WAC opponent Louisiana Tech, 7-0 on Saturday at the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex. Along with sweeping the Lady Techsters in matches the Bulldogs did not drop a set the entire day. Against Louisiana Tech, the `Dogs started the match with a statement, by sweeping the doubles point.
Marianne Jodoin and Bianca Modoc added another victory to their resume after defeating Barnard and Zurek, 8-5. Olga Kirpicheva and Melissa McQueen picked up the win against ten Dolle and de Wit, 8-6. Abby Hayley and Laura Pola defeated Urvoy and Erofeyva, 8-6.
In singles the momentum was as high as ever as the Bulldogs kept their winning streaks alive and swept the Lady Techsters in every set.
"The team did a great job today," said head coach Simon Thibodeau. "We stayed focus, took care of our matches and overall it was a great day of competition."
The Fresno State returns home this week for its rescheduled home matches against Sacramento State at noon and Pacific at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Wathen Tennis Center.
