Dogs Win Final Away Competition

FRESNO, Calif. - After a long day of traveling to Martin, Tennessee, the No. 8 Bulldogs rode to victory in the Skyhawk's arena. This was the Bulldogs last away competition of the season before the Varsity Equestrian National Championships. The Dogs defeated UTM 10-9 and two senior captains earned MVP honors.
Senior captain Caitlin Marshall earned MVP honors in Equitation on the Flat after she scored an 82 for her pattern. This is Marshall's highest score so far this season. Junior Jessica Kissell, sophomore Lauren Carr, and sophomore Lisa Beach also earned wins for the Bulldogs in the Equitation on the Flat event. Junior Nicole Roworth and sophomore Chelsie Stone rode for high scores of 78 and 74 to gain their points in Equitation Over Fences.
Senior captain Jillian Tebbe also earned MVP honors for the Dogs. Tebbe rode for a score of 64.5 in the Reining event and this was her first MVP honor of the season. Senior captain Madison Silver earned a high score of 75 in the Horsemanship to gain a point for Fresno State. Freshman Rio Haack and junior Sammie Jo Stone also rode to victory for their points for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will return to California tomorrow and begin practice for their final home competittion of the season. The Dogs will host No. 1 Texas A&M at the Student Horse Center on Saturday, March 26.
