
Bulldogs Take Tenth in Tournament

FRESNO, Calif. - After two days of swinging clubs at Copper River Country Club, the Bulldogs finished their tournament in tenth place (321-315-309--945). The sixteen teams finished teeing off in the Fresno State Lexus Classic this afternoon and UC Davis (295-306-292--893) found themselves champion of the Valley tournament for the second year in a row.
Junior Louisa Lies earned another top ten finish for her Bulldog career and took sixth place in the Fresno State Lexus Classic. She was tied with Demi Runas from UC Davis and had a final score of 78-71-75--224. Lies led the tournament in birdies after she shot 12 in all three rounds combined.
Katrina Hegge from San Francisco swung her way to a first place finish at Copper River Country Club with a final score of 73-72-71--216.
Sophomore Shaylee Yano came back strong for the second day of the Bulldog's tournament. She shot an 80 in both rounds one and two yesterday, and finished round three with a score of 73 and three birdies.
The Bulldogs will have no time to rest because they are headed for Hawaii to compete next week. Lies won her first collegiate tournament in Honolulu last spring and the team is hoping for another Bulldog vicotry this season.
