FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 60 Fresno State women's tennis team fell to No. 10 UCLA women's tennis team today at the Los Angeles Tennis Center, 6-1 bringing Fresno State's record to 3-6.
UCLA earned an early lead by sweeping the Bulldogs in doubles.
On court one Marianne Jodoin competed against No. 73 singles player McCall Jones. Finishing last in the day Jodoin dropped the first set, 3-6 but rallied back in the second set and 6-4 and pushed to a super tiebreaker, 10-4.
This is Jodoin's second victory in a row against a ranked singles player. Last week she defeated No. 68 Lucia Batta from UNLV.
"Marianne showed great competitive skills in her win today," said head coach Simon Thibodeau. "We are dealing with injuries but we hope to stay better all-around tomorrow at USC."
The Bulldogs stay in Los Angeles tomorrow and go head to head with No. 16 USC.
