Junior Callie Hancock hit two career highs in the Bulldogs' opening weekend at the Aggieland Invitational in College Station, Texas. The 5-6 forward, out of Littleton, Colo., earned her first collegiate start against No. 11 Texas A&M on Aug. 19. She grabbed her first career assist in the first half, helping in the game-tying goal. She then pulled the 'Dogs within one (3-2) with her first collegiate goal. Aggressive on the attack against the Aggies, Hancock had an .800 shot on goal percentage and finished with three points. Hancock added two more assists to her season total in the Bulldogs' 4-0 win over the University of Texas at San Antonio on Aug. 21. The single-game personal best, helped the 'Dogs to their first win of the season and the top spot in the Western Athletic Conference in points and goals. After one week of play, Hancock leads the WAC in four categories: points (5), points per game (2.50), assists (3) and assists per game (1.50). 2010-11 Archive Sysco Central California is proud to honor the Fresno State Athlete of the Week, just as we're proud to serve our local foodservice industry with integrity, trust and a commitment to a healthier community. Since 1938, Sysco has partnered with Central Valley businesses with the goal of helping them flourish and succeed - often keeping family businesses strong for generations. At the same time, we support the people and organizations that make Central California such a special place to call home, including Fresno State and the student athletes who share Sysco's passion for excellence. |
