Fresno State sophomore outside hitter Korrin Wild was named the Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 19-25. Wild, a Valley native who prepped at Sanger High School, recorded 36 kills, 20 digs, six blocks and three service aces to the Bulldogs a 2-0 record for the week, including Fresno State's first win on the road at Nevada since 2003. Wild earned her first career double-double (13 kills and 12 digs) in the 3-1 win over CSU Bakersfield and averaged a double-double for the week. She also landed a career-high 23 kills and added eight digs and five blocks in the 3-2 five-set thriller in Reno. In the two matches, she tallied an average of 4.7 points, 4.0 kills 2.2 digs and 0.6 blocks per set. Wild, a team captain, played her first two matches this year as an outside hitter - as Fresno State played its first two matches without injured 2010 All-WAC honoree Marissa Brand. Wild had played the Bulldogs' first 11 matches as the team's libero. The `Dogs also earned their first team "Fighting Spirit" award - a special honor given by head coach Lauren Netherby-Sewell.
