Fresno State Head Coach Rodney Terry
On Garrett Johnson's career-high 18 points over 35 minutes...
"Garrett gave us unbelievable minutes in terms of making shots, but he also played with a lot of urgency on defense. He came in and gave us a great lift. He did a great job on Zane for the better part of the first half."
On Steven Shepp's career-high 11 assists and competing on both ends of the floor...
"We asked him to do a lot - initiate offense and guard one of the quickest guards. I thought he did a great job of managing our game. I thought he did a nice job for us."
On Hawai'i starting 2-0 in WAC play..
"I want to give Hawai'i credit tonight. They played hard. They are a good team and have gotten off to a good start."
On getting back on track...
"We have to bounce back and hit the ground. We got a quick turnaround and all our focus tomorrow morning will be back on our game plan for San Jose State come Saturday."
On the team's effort and mindset...
"These guys fought hard. We will keep fighting. This group has fully bought into competing and playing hard. We will be ready to go on Saturday."
Hawai'i Head Coach Gib Arnold
On starting 2-0 in WAC play
"That's a huge, good win. Anytime you can win on the road it's great. Anytime you have to fight back through adversity, I think it's great. I'm glad we went to overtime. That just helps us build character. We could have pulled out a lot of times of the game and these guys didn't. I'm very proud of this team right now."
On Vander Joaquim's big night in the paint...
"Vander's been great all year. I think it's going to be his year. We are going to keep pounding it inside. They did a great job in the first half of doubling and causing a lot of trouble. And we tried to make a few adjustments at halftime and get the ball into Vander. He was playing great ball and kept demanding the ball. That's what I like about him. He's really aggressive."
