Bulldog Student-Athletes Stand Out In Classroom

FRESNO, Calif. - Heading into the 2012 spring semester, Fresno State Athletics acknowledges student-athletes for their performances in the classroom during the 2011 fall semester.
As the Bulldogs continue to work hard in the classroom, GPAs continue to rise. The Bulldogs had 37 student-athletes with a 4.0 or higher for the fall 2011 semester and over 60 percent of the student-athletes had a 3.0 or higher. Marking an overall term GPA above a 3.0.
"Our student-athletes continue to work hard and are achieving success both in their sport and in the classroom, and they are doing it consistently. This is the third straight semester that our student-athletes have earned higher than a 3.0 GPA," Interim Director of Student-Athlete Services Natalie Nakic said.
The accolades continued in the fall for Fresno State, as the Western Athletic Conference announced its 2011 Academic All-WAC teams for the sports of men's and women's cross country, soccer, volleyball, and football. Fresno State had 33 student- athletes that were honored by the conference.
