With nine points in today's game, junior Kevin Olekaibe moved from 37th to 34th on the Fresno State all-time scoring list with 968 career points. He took sole possession of ninth place in career 3-pointers made by going 2-for-7 from beyond the arc to move up to 154 career 3-pointers.
Despite the loss, Fresno State has still won three of its first five games of a season for the first time since the 2007-08 season.
In its tenth season playing home games at the Save Mart Center, Fresno State remains two wins shy of its 100th victory at the on-campus arena. The Bulldogs' overall Save Mart Center record is now 98-49.
Fresno State and Long Beach State played for the first time since 1992, and the Bulldogs still lead the overall series, which is now an advantage of 41-35 and 23-15 in home games.
