Freshman Meagan Paracholski was named Sysco's Student-Athlete of the week for the week of Feb. 6-12. The University of Washington Open was a huge success for the distance team on Sunday as Paracholski shattered a new school record in the indoor 1000-meters, finishing with a time of 2:54.96. The old record was 3:12.72 set in 1987 by Magda Saravia-Williams. Sunday was the first time Paracholski competed in a collegiate indoor competition and she finished 17.76 seconds faster than any 1000-meter indoor Bulldog competitor had before.
