FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's golf team wrapped up the U.S. Intercollegiate in 15th place. The Bulldogs carded a final round 30-over par to finish at 63-over (285-308-310--903).
Junior Rufie Fessler finished in the top spot for the 'Dogs by tying for 14th at 4-over (65-77-72--214). Fessler fired a 2-over on the day and recorded a birdie on the 1st hole for the third time this tournament.Jack Mulroy shot a 5-over, 75 to stay tied for 63rd. Mulroy birdied two of his final three holes to put him at 17-over par (75-77-75--227) for the tournament.
Freshman Keenan Nelson (72-80-81--233, +23) placed 80th while Nate Jessup (73-79-82--234, +24) and Brian Sunker (76-75-83--234, +24) both tied for 81st.
No. 12 Oregon held on to claim the team title by one stroke over No. 8 Southern California with a 1-over par. Daniel Miernicki fired a final round 4-under to win his second U.S. Intercollegiate individual title, the other coming in 2010.
"We Are Your Team!" - The Bulldogs return to action April 20-22 to compete in the Winchester Classic held at Winchester Country Club.
