Bulldogs Take Panthers, 4-3

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The No. 49 Fresno State women's tennis team defeated Florida International, 4-3 on Wednesday, at the Neil Schiff tennis Center in Florida.
The Bulldogs (11-6) swept the Panthers (5-14) at all doubles positions to clinch the doubles point and take the lead against the Panthers 1-0. Bianca Modoc and Aishwarya Agrawal defeated FIU's Christine Seredini and Lisa Johnson, 8-3, at No. 3 doubles. The `Dogs earned the doubles point at No. 1 when Laura Pola and Marianne Jodoin bested Rita Maisak and Sarah McLean, 8-2.
The `Dogs continued to gain momentum in singles. At No. 1 singles, 47th-ranked Jodoin defeated Maisak, 6-0, 6-1, and Melissa McQueen followed at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Johnson. The Panthers fought back at the No. 4, No. 2 and No. 5 positions with wins over Laura Pola, Aishwarya Agrawal and Tanya Murtagh respectively.
The `Dogs clinched the team win at the No. 6 position where freshman, Anne Susdorfdefeated Giulietta Boha, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
The Bulldogs return home for a week break before facing Pacific at home on April 13 at noon.
