Solid Finish for the `Dogs in Indy

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Head coach Emily Milberger's team finished in second-place at the Hoosier Fall Invitational on Sunday. On the final day of the Invitational the `Dogs went head-to-head against the University of Illinois for the championship of the match play style event.
In the championship round the Bulldogs lost three out of five match ups against the Illini to finish as the runner up. Guðrún Brá Björgvinsdóttir defeated Freshman Grace Park in the number four position. Junior Hannah Sodersten beat redshirt senior Samantha Postillion 2&1. Freshman Samantha Spencer beat Sophomore Stephanie Miller early on in the round but was ultimately over taken by Miller in the final standings. Senior Madchen Ly and freshman Mimi Ho were defeated by freshmen Dana Gattone and Jan Prapassarangkul respectively.
"This was a solid finish for our ladies this week in Indiana," said Milberger. "Today's match was difficult but there were a lot of highlights throughout the round in addition to both Hannah and Gudrun's individual match victories. Some great experience gained this week by everyone with this format and how we handle pressure and I know today's result will be driving our focus and purpose in a short practice week before heading to Las Vegas."
Ball State defeated the Hoosiers in the third place match while Illinois State tied Boston College for fifth place. Northern Illinois was able to get a win in the seventh place match over Eastern Michigan.
After a short week of practice the `Dogs will head to their final tournament of the fall season at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown from October 26-28 hosted by the UNLV Rebels.
