FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno State diver Shelbie Holden has been named the Mountain West Conference Diver of the week, announced today by the conference. It is the first weekly award of Holden's career.
Holden was awarded for her performance at the Tri Meet on November 15 against Fresno Pacific and UC Santa Cruz.
"We're really excited for Shelby, she really deserves it," Bulldogs head coach Jeanne Fleck said. "That was one of her best weekends all time. She is getting more and more consistent each time out and I think it's going to be a great season for Shelbie."
The sophomore from Carmichael, Calif., swept the two diving events at the meet. She won the 1-meter with a score of 279.65 and the 3-meter with 313.15 points. Both of her scores qualified her for the NCAA Zones which will take place March 9-11 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Both of Holden's scores were new career-bests.
